TO MAKE THIS YOU'LL NEED:
- Any plain white mug (I purchased this one for $1 at Dollar Tree!)
- Martha Stewart Crafts Pearl Paint in Antique Silk
- Martha Stewart Fair Isle Dots Stencil
- Preval Spray System (both Lowes and Home Depot have these)
- Colored Chocolate covered candy (I got mine from ACMoore)
Start by using painter's tape and a cut plastic bag to seal off all areas you don't want painted.
This painting system is so easy to use. Follow the easy instructions on the box and start sprayin! One trick is to NOT shake the paint while in use because it will clog the intake air hole inside. Also, you must use enough paint to ensure the hose can draw it up while keeping the jar tilted at a 45degree angle. Very easy.
Use an xacto or similar knife to trim the dried paint around the tape line. If you like you can simply remove the tape while the paint is still wet but I just found this easier.
Using the adhesive stencil, dab paint on the mug with a foam pouncer. This time you'll definitely want to peel off the stencil while the paint is still wet. Wash the stencil right away and let the mug dry. Once dry you can cure the mug in any standard oven. This will ensure the paint adheres permanently to the mug. You can find the instructions here.
This great looking mug is sure to wow any mom.
The professional looking results will definitely surprise and delight
this Mother's Day.
