Hi friends. It's that time of year again. Valentine's day is almost upon us and I'm so excited to share with you this great new craft you can make for that someone special. Everyone loves gifts, especially ones that are handmade. This one is super easy and very inexpensive to make. You'll just need a few supplies. So while you're on your way to that much anticipated Valentine's day 'fifty shades' movie premiere(and you know who you are ;) *wink, be sure to stop at your local Michael's and pick up a few simple tools.
TO BEGIN YOU'LL NEED
- Scoring board
- Paper Cutter
- Kraft Cardstock or color of choice
- Martha Stewart Crafts Punch All Over the Page Studded Heart Punch
- Adhesive tape runner
BEGIN BY:
Cut the cardstock to 6" wide. Leave the length to 8 1/2" long. Using the scoring board, score the cardstock into thirds at the 2" and 4" mark.
Next flip the cardstock horizontally and score at the 2", 4", 6" and 8" marks.
Flip your paper back vertically and cut out along some of the folds using the guide below as a visual aid. You may want to practice first to make sure you cut the correct areas but once you get used to it, it's a piece of cake.
Now you're going to
use your Martha Stewart Crafts Punch All Over the Page Studded Heart Punch. It may be helpful to first trace the heart shape onto the paper with a pencil to make sure it is centered inside the box. To create a "window" for loose candy simply cut a square from a plastic produce container. Strawberry, blueberry and salad containers work nicely.
That's all there is too it!
These are so cute and easy to make.
You may even want to change up the colors a bit
and use them as party favor for a birthday or maybe a baby shower.
