Hi friends! I hope everyone is having a great early spring. You are absolutely going to love today’s post. It features two of the all time greatest foods paired in a way you’d never imagine. The first ingredient is without a doubt the greatest return in candy history. By popular demand M&M’s Crispy are back! Yup, you heard me right. Thanks to all you wonderful folks giving shout outs to the people over at Mars candies, they decided bring them back and boy are they just as good as I remember. The next ingredient is often known as the king of cheeses, Parmigiano Reggiano. That’s right I’m pairing M&M’s® crispy with an Italian cheese and you are not going to believe how delicious it actually is. Keep reading and I'll show you exactly what we'll be making.
While trying out ideas for a new recipe I remembered something I had read a while back on The Huffington Post. The article discussed unusual food pairings and used a scientific formula for combining complimentary flavors. They claimed that Parmesan cheese and chocolate were a match made in heaven. I was determined to find out for myself.
For this recipe I decided to head over to CVS to pick up the chocolate. I came across a favorite chocolate candy of mine that I hadn't seen in a while. It turns out M&M's Crispy are back! That made my choice of chocolate a whole lot easier. For this recipe I needed the large bag but of course I had to grab a few individual sizes as well ;)
I think a really good pairing knife works well for slicing thin shavings of Parmesan.
Use a heavy pan to smash the M&Ms in addition to chopping them.
How delicious does this look!? You're not gonna believe how well these flavors pair together. Oh, and try throwing a few M&M's® Crispy on the outside of the bread for a rainbow of colors.
I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy recipe.
