Make your own chalk gift tags

  I’m always looking for new and creative ways to approach gift wrapping each year. I was recently in an office supply store and found these great adhesive chalk mailing labels. I thought it would be a great idea to make these as gift tags. I have to admit, I’m a sucker for anything “chalk.” You’re going to be surprised at how easy these are to make. Keep reading and I’ll show  you what you’ll need to create these unique gift tags.

  

YOU’LL NEED:

• Black Cardstock
• Tag Shaped Paper Punch (and separate hole puncher if needed)
• White Gel Pen
• White Pigment Ink
• Christmas Stamp
• Colored Pencils

STEP ONE:
  Punch your tags out of black cardstock. Punch a hole in the top with a hole puncher if yours doesn’t do that automatically .

STEP TWO:
Before Stamping, rub chalk lightly over the surface of the tag.

STEP THREE:
Stamp the tag with white pigment ink. White pigment ink takes a little longer to dry so be careful not to smudge.

STEP FOUR:
Use your white gel pen to trace a frame around the tag. Fill in the colored areas with pastel colored pencils.

Use twine to attach the tag to your gift. Personalize the label with additional stamping or writing on the back.
